Cisco Beach
Surrounded by conservation land, a charming seaside cottage garden provides a restful retreat on Nantucket’s south shore. A simple palette of fountain grass, flowering viburnum and salt spray rose is planted close to the home, while the sun-drenched play lawn is embraced by native coastal vegetation. Bounded by a clean privet hedge and soft grass, a simple plunge pool catches the afternoon light. Traditional cedar fencing encloses a bluestone terrace at the pool, its pickets echoing the weathered cedar shakes which clad the home. Paired with fabrics in beachy blues and greens, the outdoor furnishings cast a subtly contemporary silhouette, serving as a transition between the modern interior décor and the architectural vernacular. Awash with laughter during the warm summer days, this garden glows quietly at night - the sound of waves lapping just beyond the dunes.
